Freehand: Celestant Cloak

Remarkable and you make it look too easy :) Did you do something special to freehand this design around the curves of the cloak ; or is this the kind of design that lends itself to some approximations near the curvature - as opposed to say a solid figure (skull, shield, crown, ...) ?
