🕑 Added 2021-07-17 17:19:58 +0000 UTCGreetings and welcome to the final installment of the Alchemist series. This is what I've been building up to, that sweet sweet ambient light. This was a really fun one and a great wat to challenge yourself. Watch, learn, and enjoy!

Enthusiasm is sometimes difficult to express over the internet. Seeing two distinctly different light sources on a model is definitely interesting. Awesome work! That might have been the first time I’ve heard a double chin referred to as a buttchin. Haha
Haha, glad you're enjoying the paintworks! I'm going to use more real life references after this project. I always think of how I can paint what I'm seeing but searching specific examples before colorizing has been fun and informative.
So many cool things to remember; forehead sides, hair is brighter than black trench coats, a reminder to listen to my Black Sheep album. The lesson of using actual light to map things is always a good one. One thing I would not have expected was the hard lower line of light around the neck. (Above the collar bone area, but below the chin and ear.) If I was trying to do this I would have mistakenly faded into that line with the mid tones. But after practicing on my hand, you are right. It's a hard white line.
