Everything I Do
🕑 Added 2023-04-04 15:23:01 +0000 UTCEverything I do, I rush through so I can do something else. That's a quote from the Stephen King book, Insomnia. But it stuck with me even though that backpack and book were stolen a long time ago. It served it's purpose though, I try to apply that saying to my life every time I feel like I lack patience. Ask yourself what is so pressing about the next activity thay you have to do this one half-assed? Sometimes there is a pressing matter and sometimes I'm just looking for more free time and choose to enjoy the present a little longer.

Well said, I like that last part. Sometimes being busy doesn't mean getting things done. But I'm glad this resonates with you. It's always a good reminder when I feel like I'm treading water.
The Army Painter
I think that’s why I’m suited for army painting more that display painting. If I get burned out, I can move on to another model or unit or vehicle…or army. But, I envy what you do so much

This hits hard (in a fun-ish kind of way) for me. my painting journey is like m y life condensed into a few moments at times, I rush between layers of glazes messing it up if I'm stressed by externalities, it's an exercise in mindfulness to calm myself into caring about the time spent and the vagaries of the medium to tease out the result I am looking for. The madness of mistaking activity with worth I guess.
