Thanks to GW for the review copy. It's a nice upgrade from the original and gives me some ideas. I was joined by my buddy, Josh, who wanted me to shed some light on base building.
We laid out some options, did some sketching and framed our models up with some larger dystopia. Well, my model.
Here you can see the cork foundation inside and the gradual accumulation of debris. I wanted to lift the model up a little and also create a silhouette that mimicked some kind of planet fall or focefield of powefulness.
I instructed Josh on the ways of the canyon overhang, a classic shape that complements just about any sculpt 
Not a bad start. Tomorrow I have the day free and am going to record some footage on Dante. He gives me the chance ti show a lot of materials which will provide an interesting look. True metallic metal, weathered rubble, red metal shoulders, and power weapon. It's going to be quite the look.

Cool piece and great insight into the process, i never really considered the lines of the base as part of the piece, just some rubble to stand on... that will change now! ๐ค
Thanks, Michael! I try to keep it relatively close to the base size. Usually about 2 inches for a single model, unless I have a wild idea for the plinth. The base supplied is also fine for me but some people think it's more artistic to make a plinth, I don't disagree haha.
nice Sam do you have a rule of thumb for the base size when you are making them for display or competition?
