Ok thanks, yes i need to re-do the project by following the tutorial. As wetmap, wavemap, paintmap textures are missing. (showing pink).

Here's the 2 textures for the splashes on the road (just connect them to the texture inputs on the material for those particles on the road) : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1G2Jao6SYeWTQImwLL6vIBtoShQuVsNU5/view?usp=sharing The other wet map textures are too large in file size. (this is why you'd have to bake them, all the settings should be there already -and you can use the tutorial for reference.)

yeah, this gets too confusing for beginners. No idea how to figure it out. I just wanted a file that I could open up and apply the rain effect to nature scenes I created.

the blend file was packed -think its an issues where you can't pack Image Sequences with a file.. I'll look into it tho

Its possible the splash animations couldn't be packed with the .blend file? You could try following just that small part of the tutorial to create your own animated sequence for the splash effect. Should only be like 2-3 frames needed as was a lot of fun!
