Overall, I liked it, but I really hated Fritz’s emotional state throughout this entire arc. I understand it’s logical in many situations. He’s being influenced by the fire in his sanctum, by dusk song, by rage and hatred because of betrayals and slights. I just hope that in the rain spire he can gain a passive ability that’s meant to help him protect his mind. I understand that’s what control is going to do. But maybe a meditation based technique that is used to help strengthen one’s mental abilities. And in this way can help him with his emotional state. I just felt like this entire argument is very mentally unstable but when you put all the facts together it’s very understandable. I just hope he realizes this and steps forward to start making actions to help rectify this.

Thanks for all the feedback! Gives me something to think about going forward. I did feel the banter was a little less prevalent, which I intend to remedy. And I will try and give Cal and George a bit more attention, which should be easier since I intend for arc four to be more of a Climbing arc anyway. Thanks again for the comment and for reading. :)

A few of my thoughts on my series so far, i have less coherent thoughts on arc 3 as i read it as it was released and find it harder to keep everything in my head. Overall it was a welcome change to arcs 1&2 who started to drag reading them as wholes rather than as they released, particularly the end of the Mer spire when the characters were set up with the major drama resolved, the hunter dealt with, if i were to be specific floor 6 could be abridged and floor 10 recapped and i wouldn't feel like i missed anything. It's not that arc 2 was too long per say but that it was a lot of tower climbing coming from arc 1 with very little in-between. The characters continue to be interesting in that they are likable but rather flawed people. Of the lot i find Lauren stands out the most, disdaining the way some people act while acting just like them and unless you're an attractive women being rather unkind it makes the concern and kindness stand out more when she does show it towards the team. Cal feels like after his arc in book 2 he has settled into the background slightly along with George who was always rather quite outside of the times its just him and Fritz. Personally it feels like there has been a lot less banter with Bert and i miss it. As for the plot the only complaints i can think of are; it seems like Fritz didnt try very hard to outsmart the Nightshark i don't even remember him contemplating something simple like a dead mans switch, the story is probably more interesting where it is now but because he wasnt shown thinking about it he came out of the situation looking like a bit of an idiot. The length might have also been a bit long this arc and some of Craig and Adams training felt superfluous. There were a lot of plots set up in the arc and the duel felt like a good way to have a climax that didnt feel like you were pulling it out of your ass. Looking forward to where you take the story from here, there are loads of little things i love in the story such as characters using in universe lingo when talking to each other or the poetry of the spire sheets and so little of the word count feels like padding which is high praise for a written medium where you dont have the time to get knee deep in the editing as you have deadlines to meet. All in all, thanks for writing this and best of luck with the rest of the work.

Shouldn’t he receive a treasure or reward for wining against the other noble?

It'll be one badge each. :)

Nice!!

Venno

Fantastic. Looking forward to Fritz burning everything down.

Kaladin

Does each member need a token or just the party leader for this spire? I'm assuming it's one each like the last.

Cursed artichoke

This was a beautiful chapter

Heraclitus

Ah, I was wondering when the fae would poke their head back into the plot.
