Most of all though, she did what she did for the reason she said. She said "I am returning a favor. I would've never come back to being a human if you guys didn't come to break the wall that day." She was setting her debt straight. She knew that if she didn't save Bert and Reiner they would've died, and since she owes them her life, she save theirs in return.

yeah that too. Guilt is a big topic in SNK that's why her and Historia are so connected too. And it doesn't appear she was glad. If you are referencing what she says to Bertholt and Reiner at the walls when she is staring at the sky, there is truth and sarcasm. She regrets not being able to marry Historia and live a happy life, but she made her choice and is at peace witrh it.

It was relating the titan curse, her dying after the 13 years. Ans she knows that even if she stays within the walls, everyone is gonna die anyway as they are still clueless about the world, it's giving them a bit of time.

Nobody understands my girl Ymir even though she was one of the most important character lmao, why ?????? Remember the titan curse ? Ymir was gonna die anyway. She protected everyone by going with Bertholt and Reiner so they could at least come back with a titan so they wouldn't get killed in Marley. That's why Bertholt cries and tells her he is sorry. By sacrificing herserlf, she gave the scout some times to organise themselves without constant fear of the colossal or the armored braeking the walls again.

I think that an abrupt cut between that scene and the ones before and after really added to the unsettling feeling. You would miss it if you blinked yet it fits so well with the overal tone and themes the episode set up.

Yes it's doing that also and many other things, and that's why the scene is more complex than people give it credit for, I just encompassed it as "trolling" from isayama pov instead of writing an essay explaining every single detail, it's also portraying the 2 personalities' conflict, the need to keep up appearances, the contrast of unsettling serious almost horror music playing while ridiculous inoffensive silly things are being said and many more things going on at once, at the end you can interpret it as you like.

That's not what the scene is doing. Reiner is describing the people on the island as normal people who aren't devils due to his inner conflict. That's why Gabi is confused like "wait, they're devils, right?" and his mom shuts it down.

Reiner's dinner table speech is Isayama trolling the viewers it's like he's making fun of his own show (which he does 3 times total from what I can remember, we have seen 2 so far 1 more later on in the season, the other one we have seen so far is the attack titan episode when Hange is trolling/making fun of Eren through Isayama writing after he learned the name of his titan which should be a climax epic moment that consolidates the show and gives meaning to its title is instead immediately brought back to earth with a joke.

I think this is why it is so nice to have both Ben AND Anna. When Ben starts trying to predict plot points, Anna understands but quickly challenges his assumptions and goes with more story-based and and grounded thoughts. Regardless of who is wrong or right, it is nice to have both sides presented and brought up.

Always loving the reactions. However, I'm a little bit worried that they might not focus on the important matters, in favor of other small things. For Marleyans being dark, I think it is okay to say that this is an art-style change. Also, ships being sunk should be accepted as an assumption. I think the experience of season 4 really depends on how we see the Marley-Eldians. I know that they are good at predicting or catching some plot tools, but I really hope that they catch the main story too.
