My comment does not spoil anything. I have watched the series like a dozen times by now. Me asking this simple question does not mean I am denying or accepting that as an answer. I am just questioning why they thought to think of that first. I haven't seen anyone else be the first to bring that up despite whatever you all are saying.

I just kinda want to give you guys a hug and an emotional support pillow so that you have some comfort for the ride going forward, Your hearts are still so clean that your mind didn't even conceptualize... but this isn't that type of story... The darkness is the only comfort afforded here, so start to like it or give up on liking anything... this warm darkness. You literally have to be some type of insane to know of this place and still seek to travel to it.

You can see why the wish-granting eggs aren't usable by adults, whose desires are more complex and nuanced than those of children. Irumyuui had at least three wishes: to be cured of the pseudo-water infection, to be able to bear children, and to get back her pet that got eaten by a bird. And the egg pretty much put those three wishes in a mixing bowl and hit "blend"...

Can't wait for the next 4 episodes man. The first half of season 2 is a nice relaxing experience as they set up the world. Then the 2nd half goes nuts to butts rollercoaster of emotion and reminds you why Made In Abyss is amazing.

Hell is often worse than we imagine it to be. I have seen a few people quit this show because of this episode and the next episode, I'd like to say that the last 4 episodes are so incredibly well written, they have put Made in Abyss at one of my top animes of all time. Also the Wish-Granting egg feels familiar enough to not seem crazy. A compass with similar symbols on the inside, a variety of relics on every layer shaped like eggs. From Medium wishes to Strong wishes, that Wish is Super Strong.
