This episode is one of the most amazing bait and switches in anime. You thought Irumyuui and Faputa were the same person? They have the same VA, and look similar in the same way Nanachi's human and Hollow forms do. Nope, Faputa is Irumyuui's daughter. Irumyuui is *the village*.

There will be several years of waiting still, this season covered 4 volumes worth of material, and there's only 2 more volumes of the manga past that. 1 volume is released a year, so it will be at minimum 2 years before they can even start on season 3.

"That warm darkness is mine alone".... One of the many reasons I love made in abyss and find that it deserves so much more love is because of how poetic and mysterious everything is. You can't truly enjoy this series by watching it like a basic blunt upfront story.

Belaf eavesdropping on Vueko and Irumyuui's conversations is the reason why he feels so bad about eating the stew. He might be the only one who understands how important those babies were to Irumyuui and Vueko.
