The One Piece live action is good, but it's an exception. I think it only worked as well as it did because Oda, the actual author of One Piece, got to be an executive producer. If you do eventually decide to watch it, or read the manga or watch the anime, do note that the live action spoils a big reveal that happens much later in the manga / anime.

You're right Ben that the names sound german. Actually all the names of characters are german words that mean something. I think you should check out the translations in a german-english dictionary (just not google translate!), that's a great thing to add to the discussions :)

Like Ben has said, all names and places are German words. You've pronounced "Mut" correctly :) Mut means by the way "Courage". For those who understand german sometimes the names can be slightly spoilerous. If you take the name "Lügner" for example. The name of the demon. It translates to "liar".

I'd go so far as to say the One Piece live action is likely the top anime to live action ever created. Not sure if that would include all animated media to live action or not, but it certainly has no competition that I can think of. Starts out as around an 8/10 and finishes up a solid 10/10.

As a fan of both the One-Piece manga and anime, I can confidently say that the One Piece live action is an excellent adaption, and is well worth a watch.
