That's an interesting interpretation. I always took it as Shin being the next one to die now that he has no attachment to survival or living, not the only one to survive by going off on his own. EDIT: Maybe it's because "going to the other side of the water" is being taken literally and not as reference to crossing a mythical river separating life and death?

The Fido Flashback!!!! I still get chills every time I watch it. Especially when they cut to Kaie and Daiya's last moments. Fido's Life flashing before their lives is such an incredible choice for the author to make. 10/10 Anime Adaptation!!!

When Raiden asked Shin about "crossing the water without them" I took it in the complete opposite way you two did. It reminded me of the River Stix. To me he seemed to be saying don't go off and die somewhere without us.

Fido's POV is an anime original. It's not in the light novel, but is one of the best things of the anime. The direction is amazing. You can track most of the shots with things that happen before. The dates in the botton left helps too.

Episode 10 and 20, two of my favorite slower episodes. It took me a second watching the catch everything. This show does not waste any scenes, there is no filler. The writing in the show is amazing, everything happens for a reason and when I watch other shows I can come up with better solution for character situations but with this show I could, it gets really dark but not distasteful.
