Their names are Rudeus [Rūdeusu (ルーデウス)] and Sylphiette [Shirufietto (シルフィエット)] so they took the ル from Rudeus the Shi (シ) from Sylphiette to make Rūshī (ルーシー) which if properly translated is Lucy.

the thing said during the season 3 annoucement in french we had the translation it was saying "to protect this little being who is dear to me, I push the boundaries of what is possible, mushoku tensei jobless reincarnation will come back with a 3 rd season" there was different translation for this s3 annoucement but i really like this one used in the french sub and if people asking why Lucy and rudeus saying we took the start of each our name it's because her name is lucy/lucie writted but the way japanese say lucy it sound like Rusy
