now then, the real monogatari has started. If you get to the second session, then you are in for a wild ride from here on. This arc is peak tho. Essays were written about it. I kinda forgot that Ougi first appeared this early into the story. Waiting for your reaction every week is pain tho.

super excited for this arc! i love second season so much, it's so well done across the board. also a quick clarification on the timeline (no spoilers, only things they actually showed this episode and in previous eps) -- the conversation with ougi happens at school, so sometime after the end of summer break. araragi + shinobu's time travel adventure happens on august 20th, the last day of summer break. and nekomonogatari white happened over a series of days starting on the first day back to school after summer break. you can see the continuity also in araragi having hachikuji's backpack to return it, and when hachikuji talks to hanekawa the next day (at the start of neko shiro) she doesn't have her backpack and explains to hanekawa that she forgot it at araragi's and is looking for him so she can get it back

Man I love how Ougi gets tossed into the story like a hand grenade. It's such a perfectly disorienting introduction for her character.
