Also super late, but I thought I'd put this out there just in case. I'm watching your Apothecary Diaries reacts, and you were talking about how you liked that style of not quite a romance where it focuses on other genres while hinting at possible romance story lines. If you want another anime that's like that, try watching My Dress-Up Darling. Its main genre is completely different from Apothecary Diaries, but it might also scratch that 'almost a romance' itch.

I know I'm super late to this, but was just rewatching your Horimiya stuff and think 'Fruits Basket', 'The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity' and 'My Love Story with Yamada-kun at level 999' are all good options for more laidback choices.

Amvdere

Im late but you should watch avatar the last airbender, Beaststars, Summer time rendering ,Welcome to the NHK , The owl house , Sheild hero and A silent voice

I've said it before, I'll say it again, you guys would love picking apart Evangelion. It is one of the most influential shows there ever were, and yet it remains unique to this day. There's simply nothing else like it. And boy, oh boy, does it hold up. It is hand-drawn, and absolutely gorgeous in it's details. It's also the single best representation of depression that I've seen in a film or in a tv-series. And I'm not exactly young at this juncture. Am I hyping this up a lot? Yes, but it well deserves it. If that fails, then how about "March Comes In Like a Lion"? You'll get some cutesy stuff along with the usual depression your viewers throw your way.

samurai champloo! great music, great vibes, great characters. cool-ass sword fights, same director as cowboy bebop, mystery and comedy in equal measyre, and an interesting historical setting. need i say more?
