A real shame your only exposure to the episode and the speech in particular is going to be through this awful translation. Wish you could've used one of the fantranslations (like FLE) or at least MuseAsia. Can only imagine how much more you'd have loved it. Can't be helped. Loved the discussion!

Loved the discussion. Also a spoiler free detail from the novel. Subaru did improv the speech, as they all collectively wrote a script for the speech with him introducing himself as the slayer of sloth but he pretty much just started spitballing and then said his name at the end

NOTE FOR THE MODS & AUTOSAVE (MISTRANSLATION) Not huge but last week, Subaru's line "questioning the resolve of the people who've had their city turned into a battlefield. People who've made up their minds need to be met by people with the same degree of resolve" is very vague and obfuscates the meaning. Muse Asia translates it correctly as basically saying "You can't expect all that from people who've just had their homes destroyed. The cultists have made their choice, so only people with at least as much resolve should be made to face them". In general, S3 has a lot of Crunchyroll mistranslations (this is a minor one, there are some huge ones) so better subs are recommended!
