One of my very favourite episodes in one of my very favourite arcs. There's so many good moments in this episode, from Kaiki's initial monologue about the nature of truth and how it relates to his narration as a liar, through the silliness of going to Okinawa just because he told a stupid lie, the splashing of liquids in each other's faces after they tell something hurtful to the other person, to the final monologue in the bathroom. Absolute masterpiece. Tarantino couldn't have written it better.

Great start--looking forward to your reactions to the rest of the arc! The simultaneous "Oh, that was so cool!" during the OP was a fantastic example of how well-matched you are as reactors. Just one little note from 36:17: Suruga is the lone daughter of Gaen Tooe, making her Gaen Tooe's only (i.e., lone) daughter. San serif subtitles can be tricky.

IT'S TIME. Definitely the best arc until now and arguably the best in the entire series has begun. I remember planning only to watch the first episode late one night and ended up watching the entire thing in one sitting.
