Agree with crake, I see no issue with the first bump being small, she will probably be thinking the same based on how quickly she is wanting to get going

I understand what you're saying. My personal preference is for a longer more prolonged/slow growth with little spikes of faster growth thrown in if/when it suits the story. Depending on what you want for her character, having her grow fast at first but then go slow could create a situation where she takes action to find a way to speed it up again. In any case, if you do decide to start things slow I think that's also a great way to give her character a drive to do some fun stuff 🙂
