Much like Poll #33, in this poll I’d like to gauge your excitement toward some of the larger content additions I have planned. These are all of the shorter and medium term items previously shared in ‘Shattered Pixel Dungeon in 2023’, minus the new region arts, as I don’t have direct control over how quickly they get done.
The strength of support for each option will help my considerations when prioritizing them. Please let me know what you’re most excited to see!

City Quest Rework
After the caves quest, I also have some plans for a reworked city quest. My current concept is to have the Imp ask the player to raid a special dwarven vault. The major catch will be that none of the player’s items can go with them, leading to a little microcosm of gear progression that will only exist within the vault.
The Cleric
The Cleric is a divine magic user with a wide variety of defensive, supportive, and utility spells. I want them to contrast with the Mage, who likes to heavily upgrade wands for more direct power. The Cleric will get a wider variety of utility-focused magic instead, without having to use scrolls of upgrade.
Shop Overhaul
Shops now use a basic interface, but I’d like to eventually expand this, as well as add new shops with different shopkeepers. The contents of existing shops would largely stay the same, but there would be new shops that appear semi-randomly through the dungeon with more limited and specialized stock. Some may trade in things other than gold as well.
New Item Type
I think there’s room in the game for a ‘modifier’ item, which would be more about tweaking gameplay variables than giving direct power or utility. Alchemical energy might work very well as a means of producing and powering up these items and would give more reason to turn excess consumables into energy. The player would probably only get one of these items per run, but they’d have a little control over which specific item they get, and whether they invest energy in powering it up.
Hero-Focused Lore
Once I’ve added the two new heroes, I would really like to start adding lore documents that focus on the heroes themselves. These could include journals written by the heroes from their perspectives, or documents that describe interactions and conversations between the heroes. While I’d like to wait until after the Cleric to do this fully, a ‘backstory’ document for each hero would definitely be possible at add first.

Random shops can be fun, because there is more use for items that otherwise would be thrown away (aka left in the dungeon).

More characters are good for the variety of the game, so I am in favor of adding the Cleric as soon as possible.

I wouldn't be planning for these items to have direct combat applications like that. They would be more about effects that shake up some of the overarching variables of a run. For example "make rare enemies spawn more often", or "chance to replace a regular item with an exotic one". It is totally possible that they could interact with buffs and debuffs, but it would be in a less combat-focused way.

For the new item type, will it be something that allow a gameplay with the debuffs ? Like a bonus damage on bleeding ennemies or life-leech on poisonned ones. I see these types of "combo-mechanics" in many roguelites and think it will be a great addition to the gameplay. (But I don't know if it's you planned)

Love the idea of the city quest. Myabe a cursed Ank type item could send you to this kind of area.. the spirits of the dungeon are not bored of you yet...

All of those things sound amazing but i think Cleric shouldnt be introduced so quickly after Duelist.
