Next Text Banners
Thrown weapons are coming along nicely now that I have a full design in mind. There might even be an alpha for them sooner than you might think! In the meantime though, Aleks has continued to do artist work on Shattered’s title graphics, and on the side he’s updated the banner text for beating a boss and losing the game.
Here’s how they look currently:
And here’s how they’ll look soon, with new text styling and some updates to the extra details:
Both of these look pretty great to me already, so barring any critical feedback they’ll get into the game exactly as you see them here. Let me know what you think!

We opted to keep the text banners consistent with the original designs in terms of spacing. Also, putting them on two lines would make them almost square shaped overall, which is odd for a text graphic (they are almost always wider than tall). I agree about the triple S, but I think the sword already helps break that up quite a bit.

I think having the words being stacked on each other would look better. Examples: GAME BOSS OVER SLAIN The boss one would especially benefit from this. The triple s has always looked weird to me, stacking means the vertical sword would thread between the two s’s in “BOSS”and the a in “SLAIN”. My personal opinion/preference. Not nearly good enough at computers to draw/create an example.
