Yes absolutely, while that face might‘ve been more of a shock, it was too distracting and also not a good representation of how Gilbert sees himself (since this panel is shown while he tells us how he thinks about the stuff that’s happened)

Icl I feel like seeing Gilbert’s face in the “isn’t that unfair” panel is more horrifying (but maybe sticks out too much in the scene) so I’m glad I get to see these initial concepts.
