Good old "Two and a Half D" game design! I made my share of custom levels using that weird-ass map design system. Man it was nice to have free time and limitless energy back in the day. 8)

As I recall, 'grenade jumping' was the *only* way to jump in Marathon.

The first I encountered them was the "grenade jump" in the Marathon franchise. I was on a mac back then, so I didn't get to play a lot of Quake. As I recall, you took a bit of damage doing it, so you wanted to have your shields up before you tried it.

Hah!

A few, yes.

Just the goblin. Redcaps are fond of poison.

Show me a game that has the realism and detail to track damage to a player's worn equipment... and I'll show you a game that doesn't allow for silly unrealistic actions like a rocket jump! ;p

In any game that uses rocket jumps, I've always wondered why they don't damage the players equipment. I mean, think about it. You're having an explosion go off feet from you, and your pants don't even get singed? How the hell does that work??

Interesting archery style.

They left the Non-Fucking Orcs to watch over Bree, who has the look but no touch rule, much to Bree's disappointment.
Shaun Kelly
That’s funny. And it’s not just orcs? They have goblins helping them?
Classical Salamander
Oh yeah! Nothing like a Rocket Jump to say "So long, suckers!" I love that dialogue, such a snarky one she is. Are those nasssty orcs and goblins poisoning their arrows???
