That's actually one of the ways AH shows us that several of the Delve races are Evil. They literally do it out of simple cruelty. The same way the Jakalli will randomly leave captives out for wandering monsters to despoil/devour. There's no profit in it, it's literally entertainment to them.

We did see that in the past Jakaali tried to just dunk Bree and the Nogorog in batter then try to deep fry them, far as I know cooking people alive is kinda the MO.

The Jakaali Chefs are not known for their cooking skill, besides the Jakaali (like dogs) will eat (almost) anything.

The implication that they roast without dressing or butchering the carcass (removing the organs, intestines, etc), indeed without even *bleeding* it - is a bit disturbing. The meat would be hopelessly contaminated...
