Silver Cow Patron Update #40

As you can probably tell, we've been busy here at Silver Cow in the run-up to the big launch of Time Tenshi on Kickstarter!
Some of you had a few questions, and we'd like to answer them for you here!
Firstly, just to assure you - nothing here on Patreon is changing! Wallpaper rewards will stay the same, as will all other Patreon-exclusive benefits. No change there!
Now to those questions!
- Did anything change that requires Kickstarter?
We hope Kickstarter will help us with lots of extra visibility for Time Tenshi. Indie devs are being squeezed for visibility right now, particularly on some important platforms like Steam. This is due to some fairly recent changes in the way games are discovered. So every view counts, and Kickstarter will hopefully give us a boost for when the game is launched!
- But wasn't the Switch version already confirmed?
Discoverability on Switch has also recently taken a hit, meaning that visibility on platforms like Kickstarter has become quite a lot more important in order for us. Development costs for games, particularly when developing for Switch, are invariably only met by sales on the target platforms unless a dev has a very large amount of outside backing. For example, the Switch version has to be made in Unity and requires careful porting of controls, thorough bug testing and so on.
- Do Patreon pledges count towards kickstarting the game?
To answer this one simply, let's say that the game wasn't backed at all on Kickstarter - we still aim to deliver a playable game to you, our Patreons. It may not have all the bells and whistles of the fully backed one, but it will still be the full story we currently have with the artwork we've been teasing here on our Patreon, and it will still be good because, well, it's a Silver Cow game!

I agree, and I don't know how I feel about them anymore, their content creation seems to have become lackluster and they seem to be betraying the very fans that are helping them to achieve their dreams! I really really want to keep liking them, but they are making it harder too.

so pretty much, us patreon's are just getting kicked hard with how much we do monthly while other's who join the kickstarter are gonna get most of the credit. Good to know that months and more of helping out is turning out like this. a giant kick to the face.
you either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain. SCS stabbing your long time fans and supporters in the back like this selling out is just sad and pathetic

I too, would like to know. You have a fan base that wants to know this. And while you're trying to put up a professional act, Silver Cow, it often comes across as distant and almost evasive. So yes, as Carverington says, rip off the band aid and let us know rather than stringing us along.
Still trying to figure out if you cut the BE and whatnot to go more serious. Trailer (was that the trailer?) makes me 90% sure you did. Some confirmation would be nice. Pull off the band aid.

While I love the launch and I hope we get to romance routes of Bunni and Mizuki. I think the plegdes should be a little more reasonable but that's just me. I understand how hard the work must be to make this game. But I think better communication between you guys and us fans is needed before we moved forward from this. I personally like to know how you guys got to this point and how we fans and supporters never knew earlier to help out.
