Unfinished London - episode 10 (Watch it NOW!)

Same here, I finally signed up after this video. I should've been supporting him sooner! But as they say, better late than never. :)

Nice one Jay. I’m glad I live in the non complimacated East Riding Of Yorkshire. It may be grim up Norf but I like it. Saying that, I do like a taste of Londinium now and again. Camden Town was cool, as was watching old father Thames flow by. Ta for making me chuckle with your videos. Big up the North....and South . Peas and gloves, Andy

It was after finishing this video that it occurred to me that I should have become a patron sooner. So, it follows that I should become a patron now. And now it's now. And I am now a patron.

I was chuckling all the way through that, but I adore the fact that the best joke was the one from the ad at the end. Bravo xD

Great episode

Another great video, didn't expect Matt Lucas though

There's an odd wiggly video artefact in the top right at 10:08...

Loved it. Great work, star employee!

So when do we get to see *you* as Margaret Thatcher?

I got a kick out of the logo poem

Thanks Jay. Marvelous! One observation: Sound for the scene at 3:39 could use some attention. It seems to drop in volume and be rather quiet by 3:46 so the next scene at 3:50 is a little jarring.

As I typophile I appreciated the segment on typefaces. This episode seemed to contain less factoids, supplementary visual material and also much less inclusion of actors than in all the previous episodes. Given the subject matter of the episode, I guess that this is to be expected: it is surprising that you managed to make an episode at all out of such a mundane subject. I don't know what your rationale was for choosing this subject for episode 10: what would be useful to make a determination regarding your subject choices would be if you released a episode list on Patreon to that effect, detailing what's coming next for about the next ten episodes. As it is, I suppose I could assume that there is no particular rhyme or reason to your subject choices, however, to give more credence to the material produced - especially when it as mundane as this current subject was - a list of future episode titles would be useful to this end. I know you've kept indicating how much you laboured over this episode, rightly or wrongly, to me, while entertaining as usual, it did seem a little lightweight in content as compared to all previous episodes. Perhaps it's time to move on to a new series? I hope you found the feedback useful. This is all from the top of my head, while I sit on my bed having been confined to the house for the past several weeks. I don't claim to have done your production justice or have made a suitable appraisal, but it is what it is. I think I've covered all of the points that I'd like to, but If you'd like something more, I would be happy to oblige. On the point that you made severally about your working for us: I am glad that you laboured this point as it is correct. I made this point to another YouTuber who I make a sub to on Patreon, This was with reference to him openly publicising to his patreons that he has bought a new car which he considered to be quite extravagant. That changed my viewpoint with regards to my subscription merely being a way of showing that I appreciate all the hard work that he puts into his videos; and also that he needs money to do so: the reality is that YouTubers who are paid by patreons to deliver content are in a way subcontractors and to this end, they have to justify how they spend the money they receive; they operate at the discretion of their Patreon base - or, to my mind, they should. The fact that you earnestly recognise this fact is to your credit. Nothing is ever one hundred percent perfect and I don't think people expect it to be, but if you're the type of person who procrastinates, that's just how you are. I think what would be fun and something I would like to see is if you included outtakes both at the end of each episode and also as stand-alone videos (perhaps of the best outtakes). Also, a daily/weekly/periodic vlog would be useful not only to us to see the meta-work that goes into producing an episode, but it would also be an outlet for you, for those times when you feel that things are going slowly and you'd like to let us know how you're getting on production-wise and/or personally. These are two things that other YouTubers do and I find they supplement the channel, stop it becoming boring; enfranchise the viewership; and keep the material variegated and interesting. Anyway, I hope that you found this analysis useful. Keep the quality content coming.

I LOVE the logos bit. That must've taken you ages to put together!
