I used to play a decent amount of video games, but pretty much stopped about ten years ago when I got too busy with making videos. And in that time games have evolved and become increasingly cinematic. So for this, I would actually play some of these games (like The Last of Us) and look at how they work as storytelling mediums. What are the pros and cons of long interactive movies? Would these stories be more effective just being movies? Are the ultra-realistic graphics too deep in the uncanny valley? And...how much will gamers yell at me for my dumb opinions?
And then we have the "recent renaissance" of big-budget musicals. It's up for debate which movies qualify here, and how big the budget actually has to be, but these are MY interpretations of the topics, and for this one I say the video would be about the entire 21st century revival of the movie musical, starting with Moulin Rouge!, going through Chicago (and the many other Rob Marshall movies), the few original musicals like La La Land and Greatest Showman, up through Spielberg's West Side Story.

Idk guys for me this is musicals (because games are so long and. It is just a too massive topic. You can off course say that only cutscenes.

Riffing off some video games suggested by previous comments here's my suggestions: - The Last of Us 1 & 2 - Uncharted 1 & 4 (skipping 2, 3, and The Lost Legacy for time) - God of War (2018) (skip the recent Ragnarok sequel for time) - Red Dead Redemption 2 (probably have to only play a selection of this because it's 100+ of hours alone) - Guardians of the Galaxy (2021 Game) - Until Dawn (or maybe one of the recent Dark Pictures anthology games, haven't played so don't know which is best) - Death Stranding (again a very long game that it's probably best to only play a subset) Those alone are a huge amount of playtime though! You could streamline some of it by watching other playthroughs but that's still a big time chunk (and would eliminate much of what makes games unique from cinema). Pat's also going to need a PlayStation 5 for the best experience here (though a PS4 could work also, but the graphics in some games would be much worse). I specifically did not include Telling Lies/Her Story/Immortality because they're so different than these games. Immortality is cinematic only because it's about cinema, but the others aren't really cinematic. All of them are non-linear storytelling, which is so different than cinema. I also did not include any Telltale-like games as they're more focused on multiple choices and their consequences more than any specific cinematic qualities. PS: If Pat does this he should also reward himself by playing some of the Rocksteady Batman: Arkham games voiced by Kevin Conroy, since we know he'd love those 🦇
