Updates to Patreon Tiers Coming Next Week

Why are we changing things?
We’ve had the same general setup on our Patreon for several years now. Just the $2 and $4 tiers. Really simple. But I also set that up back when the videos were much shorter, much simpler, and it was mostly me doing everything by myself.
As I’m sure you’ve noticed, the videos have become a lot more ambitious over the past few years: they’re longer, the production values are much higher, there’s the whole narrative component, and there’s now an entire team of people working on every episode. Writers, composer, editor, researcher, etc. And they all get paid.
Our next episode, which should be dropping next week, is by far the most ambitious thing we’ve ever attempted. It’s something we’ve literally been planning for over two years, and the resources and budget required were way beyond an average video. We want this channel to keep growing and keep evolving and we would really love it if videos like this weren’t a special one-time event, but something we can do multiple times per year.

With all of that said, we’re making some updates to the Patreon, to help us keep growing and expanding and getting more ambitious and, hopefully, making the best videos on the internet. The idea is to give people the opportunity to increase their support for the channel if they would like to.
What is changing?
We’re slightly reworking the tier system. If you want to keep your pledge exactly where it is, no problem. But if you want to switch, here’s what we’re now offering.
$2 per month (no change)
-Access to our Discord server, where you can submit questions for the Patrick Replies videos
-Audio podcast versions of Patrick Replies episodes
The $4 per month tier is being deleted. Anyone at that tier will automatically be switched to a custom pledge not at any tier. So if you would like the perks, you need to join a new tier. If you joined at this tier for an annual pledge, your name will remain in the credits until your subscription ends (so if you joined in November 2022, you'll be in the credits until November 2023).
$5 per month
-Access to monthly process streams where I’ll show you how we make these videos
-Behind-the-scenes updates and photos about the production of upcoming videos
-everything from the $2 tier
$10 per month
-Your name in the end credits of every video
-everything from the other tiers
$50 per month
-Your name at the top of the end credits, but in a BIGGER FONT and with an ASSOCIATE PRODUCER credit
-everything from the other tiers
$100 per month
-You get my eternal gratitude and appreciation because this is so generous and I don’t expect anyone to actually join at this tier
-I will mail you a signed Night of the Coconut movie poster
-everything from the other tiers

We're the same. I wonder why it got moved to the $10 tier instead of the $5 tier? Also (unrelated to Jeff's comment) when is the change happening?

Totally understand why you’re changing things up! However I can’t really afford to increase my membership to $10 and I don’t use the Discord so I will probably be stopping my membership going forward. Hope to come back one day when the cost of living crisis isn’t so… expensive

So the tricky thing about that is we don't actually have posters printed/available in the merch store. I just happen to have a handful left over from the premiere last year that I took home with me. But if you want signed NOTC stuff, all the vinyl soundtracks in our merch store are signed by Brian and me!

Great question! Here's how this will work: if you are currently at the $4 annual tier, your name will remain in the credits for the duration of the year you signed up for (so if you joined in July 2022, you'll be in the credits until July 2023). When Patreon prompts you to renew, you'll have to switch to the $10 tier to have your name in the credits
