The project of infinite setbacks

Wintergatan made a video about this. Like Musk said it is not about making a go-kart (or a machine). It is about making a machine what makes go-karts. You said that you learned a lot and that is important.

Just a warning with PETG, the stuff slowly creeps while under load. After 6-12 months things may be out of tolerance or worse. Heat accelerates this effect. I learned this the hard way. Knew it was going to be an issue and had only planned to use the parts to bootstrap to ABS replacements. Was surprised just how quickly it happens and even to parts where the only load was clamping from screws. Flame retardant ABS filament is a thing. Atomic Filament makes some for $50/KG. If they end up getting reprinted at some point, could add alignment pegs to justify all those drilled holes in the copper strips.

Are you saying if someone cheated on you you would key their car instead of taking their door off and engraving CHEATER with a laser engraver instead. Modern problems require modern solutions
Raphaël
"keying is so last century"... wish it were but nope nope nope, still a thing in the city unfortunately.
Raphaël
On the bright side, your son will likely be old enough to help you before you're finished with the go-cart project! (I'll quietly excuse myself out of the room now)
Evan Hartmann
You can also do car mods you can do for cheap and engrave coda on the hood or door.
Thomas Eriksen
No need for safety features with warning label like that

I'm definitely engraving the Durango. I think I'll engrave "CHEATER" on the side because keying is so last century
Evan Hartmann
Please engrave the Dakota hood or did you sell it with the used car market so high?
Misha Dellinger
make some fancy cupboards or closets with your fancy cnc machines
Eric
I’m really glad you enjoy doing this because I know I really enjoy your content! I know a few YouTubers that really love what they do as well! Have fun with the go cart!

The only thing I miss about my old job is interacting with people daily and getting out of the house daily. Both of which would've been ruined by the pandemic. This job is much better!
Eric
Everything you do is so impressive to me because I could never just think of stuff to make like you do. It’s almost as if you have an engineering degree. Speaking of which do you miss doing your old day job?

Steady wins the race.
