The pocket universe thing is so cool. I have always thought about that being the end goal of an AI, to conquer the universe then to escape this universe and start conquering new universes...... I never thought about an AI creating it's own universes though lol, that's so cool lol.

Imagine a completely politically/ideologically indoctrinated individual that also has some dull psychic pressure being put on them at all times by their god figure. This is what an Overfather is. I’ve also described them in another comment like this: If the All-Mother is the Internet and the Emitters are WiFi routers, then the Overfathers are like semi conscious WiFi extenders. The All-Mother is bringing him before her to impose the importance of his mission. Visiting the central emitter for an Overfather is like visiting the holiest of sanctums.

Hey, wait, if All-mother is considered God by the Overfathers, and the Overfather who rebelled is called Deicide, which means killing a god, then that means... SPOILER ALERT! :D

Overfathers are like nodes which the All-mother interacts with, they have some autonomy and they are conscious, but there is always the ever present will of the All-Mother guiding them. The All-mother has surveillance capabilities over the whole of the Imperium. She spreads her consciousness out into our universe through things called emitters, the one you see here is the central emitter. You can think of Overfathers as also serving the function of an emitter too to some extent. Like if you think of the AM as the internet and the emitters as WiFi routers then the Overfathers are like conscious, mobile WiFi extenders. As for power levels, The Overfathers have no where near the Psionic potential of the AM. They can hide themselves and cloak others but they would never be able to invade or influence the mind of the AM herself, the best they can do is retreat and hide.

so considering the all mother seemingly needs overfathers. how intelligent are they in comparison to her? considering decide was able to cloak Lost for a time are they at a similar level of intellect when the all mother was first activated?

All mother in a pocket universe strongly reminds me about Ideal imperfection by Jacek Dukaj. In this book technology moved so far that ai's started to make their own pocket universes with altered laws of physics itself, like with infinite speed of light to boost their computing power
