There are some, not all though, some display emotion in a way that humans simply cannot comprehend. For example, the Kolaxans flash bioluminescent pigments into their upper tentacles to express mood. The question what do alien facial expressions look like is too general to answer man sorry, it’d have to be directed at each individual species as they all have unique ways of expressing themselves. it’s tough for them, but I think ultimately they realise that Losté is an individual and is not punishable for the sins of his people. Not to mention that Losté is quite literally a terminarch/endling, if there was a price to pay he has more than payed it. I will address this in future issues, Losté and Skiv (the Chantauri) will have the conversation.

Are the aliens in Humanity Lost able to make facial expressions? While I can imagine why alien facial expressions might look completely different from those of humans, and most other IRL animals we know-of don't really have facial expressions, I feel like the apparent lack of facial expressions on every character other than Loste in the story so far makes Humanity Lost emotionally-challenged at times. What do alien facial expressions look like, if they have any? How does the alien traveling with Loste feel about traveling with a human, the species that brutally colonized his planet and nearly took over the whole galaxy?
