Hey, ( sorry for late reply ) I just found your comment. I probably missed the notification in the past. The tip to keep the same face with various expression is really to setup the proportions ahead ( eg. size of the eyes in the face, height, curve type, etc... ) , then looking for hard/solid part ( bones, skull ) that are stable and never change and only tweak the soft skin ( elasticity, squeeze/strech ) to emphasis on the expression. 'The artist complete guide to facial expression' by Faigin is full of fundamental about it. One of the best book I have. The style is about realism, but it can be transferred to any style with a bit of imagination.
I am so so sorry I had to decrease the pledge amount, can't miss more at the moment.
This sketches help me a lot. How to draw the same face with expresions ? The character is always recognizable. Thanks!
