Quid Pro Quo - Progress Update
🕑 Added 2020-03-15 01:46:59 +0000 UTCI decided to move Quid Pro Quo a couple more decades into the future (and into a bigger city). I think it makes for a more interesting universe overall, and opens up more opportunities to play the malevolent god-capitalist that you all came to know and love in Stationmaster.
The majority of the corporations advertised on the billboards outside the office will be purchasable, in addition to a bunch of others, ranging from tiny local pizza places to the privatized police force. I also plan to add synergies between several (for example, owning the prison corporation and the fast food corporation will let you use your less-connected inmates to make delicious soylent burgers).
Implemented:
- Manage employees (hire, fire, give raises, and give bonuses).
- Use investigators and friends to learn blackmail.
- Leverage blackmail and threaten employment to gain influence over others.
- Use your influence to make people give you money, sabotage their companies, quit to work for you, spy on others, or perform sexual favors.
- Purchase other companies.
- Upgrade facilities in your office (things like a private elevator or a break room TV).
- The day system, economic reports, and AI.
- Email, black book, and org chart apps for your PC.
- Office interior
Still in the pipeline:
- New character display engine.
- Sex animations.
- More office upgrades.
- "Softer" romance options with employees who are attracted to you (or just angling for bigger bonuses).
- Random events with employees and owned corporations.
- A bunch of mechanics and world generation tweaks.
- Lots of little graphics updates (replacing the computer on your desk, better rain, etc.).

That's a known issue that's fixed in the latest patron build. It will be public in a couple weeks.
Tried the public build of stationmaster and chose my char to be a shemale. The sex scene system seemed broken at least with the shemale main character's body deforming in freaky ways in most of the stances.

The universe is a bit closer, but the gameplay is further, so I'd call it a wash. This game has wage slaves instead of actual slaves, so you have to convince people to obey you (instead of it being a given because you own them).
