I really like the different social circles this creates. Gives the story more anchor points for me to latch my sense of realism onto. So many writers will constrain the protagonist's interactions with the same small circle. Especially in an academy setting, that would seem hollow. In classes this small, one would be forming many new relationships and interacting with members of many different circles. As for Dras, I suspect he is working on pursuing someone of a higher social status. Whether it is by society's influence or his own family's pressure pushing him more tweaks my curiosity. I would not blame him if this is the case. It is part of what the school's function is about. Heck, it is why they have servants. Doesn't mean he forsakes a friendship, just means he seeks a possible marital partner elsewhere.

I’m interested in Dras’ reasoning as well. And also seems she’s attracted quite a diverse cast.

It was descriped that her shuedle is pretty dam packed and most free time goes into studying. The Akademy is not for slackers and demands students to excel or GTFO. At least the comoner once. Nobles most likely get away with more.

This chapter reminds me of something. If I were Alana the first thing I would do upon joining the Academy is closet myself in the library for a few months. I guess she's just too busy to visit the library or the library is mundane without books on magic or ... ?

Good chapter, thanks... I'm very curious about how good the programmer was at writing help text. It's not a skill many of us programmers are gifted with...
