ptsd is weird. for most of 2005-2006 i would shift lanes if i was driving and saw trash on the side of the road. even to this day if i hear a jet engine fire up i feel the bottom of my stomach drop. the first 2 seconds sounds oddly like incoming mortar fire. Now, no one has ever accused me of being a sympathetic soul but i could certainly see someone pairing lighting, thunder, getting burnt, and getting attacked unexpectedly together in their minds.

Imp

She'll have bard and dancer, but what about Mime?

After Alanna works out the dance casting method she will end up looking like a cross from a Final Fantasy Dancer Job X Bard Job X Fire/Lightning Bender

Great chapter and thanks for the quick turn around on these chapters. I am starting to get worried at Alanna's progress with lightening and starting to think that they are training her to be able to fight the lightening freak on the other side and they will use her in battles. Even if it did not start out that way, what kingdom would leave that reason free with no obligation especially with how many hours specialized advanced training and money that was invested in this "Therapy" Also when are you going to follow up on the side stories, I want to know what the bishop has gotten himself into. I think he is tracking down Alanna's peoples to negotiate with them. Also, you alluded to fractions in the kingdom and the support for the next King. I am surprised that the Prince has not made another appearance in the story. Or that fact we have not seen him receive a report about Alanna, Drac and Charles. Can't wait for the next chapter. Thanks

Or practicing casting two spells at once, her localized sound muffling spell and the lightning strike.

I would disagree that it came from nowhere. Remember the lightening attack the year her an Drac went to watch entrance exam? That left hidden untreated mental connections with thunder that were not positive associations for her. Then this massive attack where lightening was used to almost kill her, the lightening left her in pain, weak and vulnerable to other attacks. Her almost killed her teammates and did kill some of her school mates. Then there was the violence and shock of the smell, noise, taste, touch and sight that the lightening attack left. He soldiers trained to kill can get PTST after the first time in combat, then a 13-year-old girl with no training or coping skills can. Heck she should even do it even faster than them. I would agree that the author would benefit from doing a better job of indicating time passages a bit better. I am not sure if we know or have been reminded on how many hours in a days; how many days in a month, how many months in a year. Alanna has not really focused on her birthday and letting us know when she has gotten a day older and while these people might not celebrate new year's and birthdays, she might do so to help us understand time passage. Therapy and how quickly it helps a person is a personal thing to each person. In this case Alana has all kinds of advance knowledge and understanding of therapy that she is also processing her issues outside of these sessions. Coupled with 3 to 6 months of aversion therapy then she might actually do it, if you have a strong desire and curiosity to motivate you.

Turn [Lightning] from [Enemy] to your [Friend]. Who cares about a bit of ear damage and smoking flesh ?

I'm sorry, but I really dislike this mini arc. Her reaction to the storm was too extreme and out of nowhere - it needed to be built up to. And now her recovery seems to be going extremely fast (which I suppose I prefer so we can get past this whole thing).

Thanks for the chapter:-)

sink or swim but i wonder if the method had some hidden testing two birds one stone type of deal helping her and them somehow...

Ouch, painful therapy in many ways! Good chapter, thanks
