Contaminated climbing ropes - oil, sunscreen, deet and acid

The rope broke in the knot between 17-19kN in all samples except the acid where the contaminate actually was the cause of the breakage around 10kN, which was a lot higher than we thought! Keep acid off your ropes and wear your sunscreen!

about 24 hours. I'm surprised how many requests for contaminate once, let it sit for 6-12 months. I might do it since so many people asked for it
How long did the contaminants sit on the rope?? Would be cool to see a vid when the contaminants were allowed to sit for a month? (Some amount of time that may effect the rope?)
