Our friends at Patreon have enabled free trials, so I am now offering a free week of Epic Tier. If you're a free user, or are only on Account Sync, you're welcome to try it out and see how you like the benefits.
Epic Tier provides collaboration features for Improved Initiative and Paragon Campaign Dashboard. You'll also get access to the D&D Beyond StatBlock Importer.

Yes, you'll need to install the browser extension as well. There's a link to it from the Epic Initiative tab on the Settings pane.

It says on Patreion that I should have started my free week, but I don't see the DDB stat block importer on the app. Anything I should try?

I'm not 100% sure how Patreon has this configured, but I believe you should be able to get the free week when you upgrade. If you've subscribed to Epic Tier before you might be ineligible for the trial.

How do we get the free week? When I click the link it just prompts me to upgrade to the $8 tier. Did I miss the window for this trial? I see it adds a $1 credit, but I don't know if that's related.

100% agree! When I run my D&D games (I roll with random Initiative) and this tool is essential! This has truly been one of the best tools to use as a DM. I use it for every combat I run. My players love the character and monster art pop ups. I use an iPad resting up against my DM screen so everyone can see the turn order without getting their devices out. WELL WORTH IT!

There's not an officially supported way to do this, but you could try running the GH repo locally. I can't provide personalized support for this but it will run offline once you've got it working. https://github.com/cynicaloptimist/improved-initiative/

Out of curiosity - is there an option to run Improved-Initiative locally (ie w/o need of internet)? I'm going to run a game at GenCon and internet can be iffy in some of the areas.

The DnDBeyond stat importer alone is worth the price, imo. The combat tracker makes DMing combat so easy!
