Izumi is basically going on and on in his head justifying himself, going back and forth between "I did nothing wrong" and "it was wrong I did nothing", and it's eating him alive. If only he could magically learn Demian's confidence... Demian is the kind of person who thinks he can solve any situation just by openly explaining his true feelings, which is why he could tell Izumi about his past with Eiji so easily. Had it been the other way around, Izumi would have probably overthought the fact that he working with an ex-boyfriend could have bothered Demian (if Izumi had any ex-boyfriend, which he doesn't).
