My Channel Was Taken Down. Here's My Statement.

Late last night, I received the jarring news that my Youtube channel was under a warning for violating the sex and nudity policy. This morning, I was again shocked to learn that my entire channel had been taken down (with zero strikes, nonetheless). While this news is upsetting, I always knew in the back of my mind that it was a possibility and I was prepared for this reality.
Here's how I feel. I am super, super thankful that I still have access to my audience on Patreon, Twitch, and Instagram. I am so thankful for the book of clients who consistently order custom content from me. NOTE: if you ever decide to become a content creator, be active on more than one platform! You never really 'own' your platform, so spreading your work across several outlets is a godsend in situations like these.
I am a full-time student in real life and am close to graduation and beginning a new career. In a way, taking a break from Youtube feels like a bit of relief: I can focus on my studies and passing my final exams without feeling guilty about putting Youtube on the back burner. I won't have to sift through the unmoderated cesspool of hateful, trolling, disgusting comments that come my way every day. But I will miss my interactions with the kind, supportive, and amazing subscribers who were always there for me. I'll miss that most of all. </3
That said, I am passionate about ASMR and creating content! Rest assured that Patreon and custom content aren't going anywhere. And I am open to your ideas for moving forward from this. While I did appeal the removal, my hopes aren't high for swift or any action to be taken. So... what would you like for me to do? I've toyed with the idea of Twitch and have a small presence there. I could also focus on Patreon and create more content for us over here (including some free content to help fill that Youtube void!)

It is completely undeserved for your channel to be taken down. I am incredibly sorry something happened to someone that works hard to make content to make so many feel relaxed and comfy. I am more on the side of a mass flagging incident. That is usually how a channel gets taken down without a strike. I hope your channel can come back. I will show support wherever you go and you will always have that support. Keep fighting and keep being yourself, Stephanie. That is how you win in all of this.

Sorry to hear this. But you can also continue uploading your videos to Vimeo.com and even password protect them for patrons only. Twitch might be good idea to find new followers.

YouTube makes absolutely no sense. Far FAR worse channels get away with actual sexual content. Unbelievable. You were my favorite YouTube ASMR content creator. What a shame.

I’m so sorry to hear that. I do hope you get your channel back. I think focusing on Patreon is a great idea! Twitch could be a good alternative to YouTube for reaching new audience, and I think it would be fun to see a live stream from time to time, but it’s not generally how I consume ASMR content. I usually listen at bed time. I know it’s possible to listen to old streams, which I have done, but it’s definitely not a replacement for recorded videos which feel more one on one. I’m all for free content on here too! Unless you should find the pay wall is what’s keeping the assholes out, then I wouldn’t be hurt if it went back to paid only. More content sounds amazing to me though. 😊
