Just as a Greek myth obsessed nerd, originally Odysseus only angers Poseidon after blinding polyphemus, the him not needing the gods thing is a fabrication of the tv movie. Also is say his entire journey humbled Odysseus and his disguise is not made to make him humble it serves as a way for him to get up to speed on his palace and family.

Another fun thing about Bluebeard is that his beard probably wasn't blue. For example, in the olden days they didn't have a word for every color. So famous Scandinavian king Harald BlƄtand, translated as Harald Bluetooth (yes, THE Bluetooth), did not really have blue teeth, they were black. But since black didn't exist as a word, blue was the closest thing. This means that Bluetooth technology should be called Blacktooth, and also that Bluebeard could have been Blackbeard, and therefore a pirate.
