I’m not sure if Will, Freddie, or Matt have similar experiences and I don’t want to discount times when they too may have felt like this. But I guess I trust Anthony and Beth to talk about this more because I’ve heard them talk a bit about their own experiences. If it were any of the others I would’ve been unsure and uneasy.

I was gonna say I’m really glad that Anthony and Beth were the ones most closely connected to Francis’ suicide attempt. I feel like most people who haven’t experienced suicidal ideation end up saying the wrong thing, and like that’s possible for people with experience as well but I think they’re less likely to say something offensive. Most people don’t understand suicide and why someone would choose it. Once you do understand it you can have more meaningful discourse about it.

Bravo to the whole crew: this was a banger of an episode! I love how you unleashed the wild chaos of the Daddies cast while also keeping the dramatic tension and poetic justice of the narrative. I had trouble keeping my car straight because I kept cracking up from the the one-liners and goofs. Esther did a great job with the esiting and Big Shane riffs too. You guys are the best 😂.

After rewatching equilibrium, I rewatched the matrix. Equalebriam came out 3 years after. Matrix doesn't just hold up, it's still one of the best movies ever made. I highly suggest rewatching this masterpiece.

My father killed himself when I was 9. I think I'll probably suffer lifelong depression for it, but on the flip side he was abusive and unstable so maybe I am safer without him in my life. I super relate to Anthony's comment about a good reason not to commit suicide is how it will affect others. I feel fortunate, almost suicide resilient because of that lesson learned. And to Beth's comment about fundamentally disagreeing on whether or not life is worth living, well, this is our burden. To make our minds and our physical spaces habitable. I wish all the good luck in the world who struggle on this path. Find kindness in yourself, for yourself.

I think Anthony has always been pretty transparent shut his struggles mentally and emotionally, I’m sure they’re aware. But it’s also okay if someone is fighting suicide using their loved one’s feelings, you know? For me, for a long time, it was “but who will take care of my cat and dog?” And it later became “I need to see every moment of my son’s life”. And I haven’t struggled with the ideation in a few years, now. Many times “I’ll do it for them” later BECOMES “I’ll do it for me”, you now?
