Nish was most likely required to have those mats out for his running kick due to health and safety regulations! Incidentally, sometimes on the Taskmaster podcast contestants will tell about how they had ideas of what to do for a task but it'd get shot down by the producer. For example, climbing on the roof of the taskmaster house is a big no-no.
