Err not a fan of this one. How does no character ask after watching the video.... But how did the tape and Hare get into the safe. Just an example of the reveal being a tad more important than the over all writing. This is hard concept to continually do well I think. Probably would have benefited from a limited series format, pulling together all the best cast iron scripts.

Whilst there are still some fantastic episodes to come, sadly the general quality of the show takes a dip from here on out. The latter series don't maintain the consistency of the first few series.

Inside No. 9 does a really good job of keeping you engaged from moment to moment. I can't think of another show that has such a skill with constantly twisting and spiraling in on itself narratives. Even if in some episodes other elements aren't engaging me, I still want to know what's going to happen, and I rarely have much of a clue. And they toy with that part of the audience that thinks they've spotted the twist. I don't watch shows like this normally, stuff like Black Mirror, Twilight Zone, etc. I don't know why. So it's been interesting watching this. It must be so hard to create and destroy an entirely new universe every episode, and cram it all into thirty minutes. The only problem with episodes like this, that revolve around a monkey's-paw style object, is that Rick and Morty took the piss out of the concept so thouroughly and completely with that one episode where Rick starts a 'curse-purging- shop. I reckon half of Harmon and Roiland's motivation with Rick and Morty is to forever ruin the premises of all sci-fi and fantasy storylines.

This was a pretty clever way of tying all the Inside No. 9 episodes together, in a loose way. The focus of this episode is in every Inside No. 9 episode, it's just always in the background. Maybe this means that all of the dark happenings in each episode are caused by the same cursed object! ... or it's just a cool coincidence ;) Edit: Oh Josh, I just remembered, the next episode isn't Series 5 episode 1, there was a Halloween special broadcast live on TV, chronologically it comes next. It's called Dead Line, I really hope you react to it, I assumed you would but I just realised you may not have known about it. Of course, if you miss it next week, it doesn't matter, because you can watch it any time, but it's one of my favourite No. 9 eps, so I hope you don't miss it.
