He was taking photos of him to check if he was circumcised "as nature intended, uncut and still sheathed" You can see in the photos of previous Mr Kings in the file that some are circumcised (hence the gold stars) and some aren't. It was all an elaborate setup to make sure they could check.

Re. Charon and the river of styx, there's a game from a couple of years ago now that is so stupidly, insanely great that I rave about it to absolutely everyone, regardless of whether they like games or not(it's just full of rich characters and wonderful writing, so I've seen all kinds of people fall in love with it). It's called Hades, and it's probably the single most addictive, compulsive, enjoyable game I've played this century. It revolves around Zagreus, the son of Hades, who is trying to escape the underworld and discover what happened to his mum. Each playthrough lasts about twenty minutes on average and you can complete the game in half an hour pretty easily by the time you're wise to it. It's all fixated on the Greek gods and their mythology, Charon is a character who sells you various perks and boons, and everyone else is there too, from Zeus to Persephone to Achilles and Sisyphus pushing his boulder up that hill endlessly. The voice acting is sublime, the writing is beautiful, the gameplay is stupidly good. It's extraordinarily simple(you can move around, and you also have a dash button and an attack button - that's about it I think), anyone can play it and you can play it in short bursts. The systems are very simple too. It's as close to guaranteed enjoyment as you can get from a game. From any piece of entertainment. I will genuinely give you your money back* if you don't enjoy it! As you said you have not seen Pinocchio in a long time I highly recommend the new version on Netflix. It's the most impressive stop motion I've seen and the version is closer to the book so is dark at times.

Of course, that line was also referenced within The League of Gentlemen itself, when Edward says "You did it beautifully, Tubbs".

I really liked this episode. Even though it's easy to see where it's going, I do love it as a more modern day homage to The Wicker Man, one of my favourite films :D

Edward Woodward, Christopher Lee in Stickman! 😂 imagine if it was called that, you made me laugh Josh. Steve Pemberton’s character even says at one point near the end, "you did it beautifully" which is the same line said by Christopher Lee to the missing girl, Rowan in The Wicker Man. The League of Gentlemen guys are huge fans of The Wicker Man.
