Dinnerladies may not be to everyone's taste but it's objectively not a poor show IMHO. It's exceptionally well written, Victoria Wood knew what she was doing. But yes, it's very much its own thing, somewhat sweet and old-fashioned. I'm very fond of it but can see it wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea.

I think Josh would really enjoy it. It's naturalistic/cringe humour in the vein of The Office and The Royle Family which Josh very much enjoyed.

Could Ted Lasso be added to a future poll? I just binged the series for the first time and can honestly say it's one of the best shows I've ever seen. Hilarious and heartwarming in equal measure, and also a great crossover between British and American humour!

I'm gonna do a Keir Starmer here and sit firmly on the fence. I've seen Toast of London and really liked it (plus we know Josh loves Matt Berry). I've never seen This Country, but it looks interesting. Would it appeal to an American? (I know we've gone through this question so many times and every time Josh has loved it).

Delighted to see This Country doing so well! Having grown up in a Cotswold village and knowing a couple of the cast (one of whom is no longer with us, RIP Michael), it's a brilliant show and scarily accurate (and hilarious because of it!).

I know he's done most of the British classics already, but Gimme Gimme Gimme... my God, how cringe. I do wish Game On got more votes but I don't think anyone outside of the millennials knows what it even is. It is very 90's but it's genuinely quite funny throughout.

House of Fools is massively underrated... In fact, it never even comes above the radar when UK TV comedy is mentioned and it's a great shame but it's a hidden gem, absolute pure gold that I go back to regularly... All the episodes are strong until the last few episodes of the last seson as well... Matt Berry is awesome as usual in it as well... The only thing I've not enjoyed of Matt Berry is Toast of Tinsel Town which was absolutely awful and tarnished the Toast legacy somewhat.

In all honesty, it's hasn't aged well and I hate that saying lol but it hasn't... I loved it as a kid but after just watching it again, it's a very weak, gentle comedy that depends on very base humour... It's okay but nothing special now that I've matured and recognise good writing.

Definitely need PhoneShop and Detectorists on there at some point. Of these I've only seen Man Down, and it's a fun time (absolutely insane cameo later on too that only affirmed my love for the man involved even more, especially their reasoning for wanting to get involved). Tried Toast of London years back and for whatever reason it just didn't click. Then again that happens with a lot of shows that I eventually love when I return to them.

Have to be frank, don't see much that leaps out at me on this list. Of the stuff I've seen and liked...Nathan Barley deserves a rewatch. I'm pretty sure it's improved over time as the ridiculously high expectations around it have disappeared and people can appreciate it for what it is. But there's no way that'll win. And I had a soft spot for Him and Her, although that was more character-based than laugh out loud. That won't win either. I remember Green Wing as funny, and that's doing okay so far. Of the stuff I haven't seen I've heard good things about Stath Lets Flats and This Country, so would be pleased if any of them won. And I've seen a bit of Toast Of London and didn't get what it was trying to do, but I've been proven wrong so many times on this channel, and people keep raving about it, so do what you will voters. I'm prepared to spread my votes around like a very cheap date.
