When I finished it, I thought it was cool, but now I've been using it for a bit, it's just got even cooler! There's so many 'oh yeah' moments where I've forgotten my keys, need to quickly unlock, spot delivery drivers arriving and more!
Super fun project that I'm using 10 times a day at least in some shape..... and unlocking the door with your face.... it's just cool....!

Brilliant idea!!! I really like this concept, you could also have a camera being pointed at it so you can see what they do (and discourage any pinching!!). Really not a problem where I live, but know this is a common challenge - I might look at this in future for a video!

you could make a deck box that couriers could put packages in that locks when reclosed and notifies you of a new delivery. preventing porch pirates from getting them.

😂😂 Brilliant question, Simon. I hadn't thought of that, so I checked. They don't affect your insurance apart from positively (either situationally or something policies offer discounts as they count as higher security). In terms of situation, it can also help - eg few people can be bothered to fully lock their door every time they go into the garden or nip to a neighbour etc, so if you got something pinched at that point, you'd have to admit you'd left your door unlocked which might invalidate cover. Whereas if your door lock is automatically locking or just requires a tap, it will reduce the possibility of these situations. Obviously check your own specific insurance, but seems all positive as far as I can see as it doesn't interfere with the locking mechanism in any way.

Something very familiar about your visitors! Have you investigated if a smart lock has any affect on home insurance? I know it shouldn't but insurance companies will look for anything
