The ”Dark Rey” was her final Jedi trial, I think. In a lot of the movies they often talk about ”The Trials” and I think it's the fully trained Jedi having their worst fear once they have the power.

Cool discussion, however apparently in the Lucas/JJ cut of the film which is apparently 4hr. 20min there was no Reylo kiss, but there was a long Ben and Rey vs. Palpatine lightsaber battle where Ben kills Palpatine and before Palpatine fully possesses Ben Rey kills him, and Palpatine’s essence is dragged into the ether...which would make sense. Kylo Ben was only convincing as an antagonist in about the first 10 mins. Of TFA. After that with his high, vulnerable sounding voice he could never hold a candle to Darth Vader, which made a ”redemption ark” kinda worthless.

I also think you and the guys are very cool people. I haven’t listened yet, but I saw the Star War yesterday and am going to listen to your discussion right now. RLM unanimously disliked it, but I found that I really liked it - if maybe for all the wrong reasons... like a disjointed mushroom trip or a dream of Star Wars... yay! Mushrooms!
