Upcoming Mod: Active Political Career
🕑 Added 2022-04-28 13:30:36 +0000 UTCWhat do you all think? I am planning on this. I have some ideas based on my current political traits and my Campaign Rally event. But this is a possibility to expand on your Sim being the leader. Let me ask for some feedback.
Sims 4 calls the President the "National Leader" and my Military (Active) career alludes to that also. I know it's impossible to please everyone but what are your thoughts on "National Leader" vs "President".
Obviously the game can't work like the real world so this person who is National Leader/President would be elected until they die.
The only skill that is needed in this field would be Charisma, but I am considering adding Research & Debate. I really wish these two different skills.
I am using 9 career levels from past careers in the game, so in a way it'll be a remake.
Planning on bringing back the City Hall and I already have a City Hall Lot trait. This is where your Sim will go to work it's not like what would be the White House. That will be your home when leaving the City Hall.
Interactions will depend on career level of course from Securing Votes, Signing laws, Campaign to Citizens, Debating others, Giving Speeches and a lot of computer interactions.
I am considering making your Sim required to get a Communications or History degree prior to reaching level 5 to advance.
Once your Sim has reached the top level, if your Sim is married their spouse can use the career title of "First Spouse".

I think media interviews and press conferences are a great idea, and I think the additions of the scandals and the celebrity system is fantastic!

I am so excited by this! I think adding Research & Debate as a skill is a great idea, and I'm totally happy with the 'President' job title. I think needing a degree to progress past a certain level is a great idea, too. as is the use of 'First Spouse' and City Hall. Can't wait to see it!

National Leader is good. Yes to including Research & Debate. I don't know how complicated any of my ideas are, but I think it would be cool to have job tasks like give a media interview or go to a press conference and outcome depends on their mood, like confident or focused. You could add an occasional scandal popup to do with their government. Or tie the celebrity system in so you gain fame as you progress the political career, and your reputation suffers if you behave scandalously as a politician.

I love this idea; I agree more with World Sim Leader over President. and instead of debate maybe the term "press conference" either way I play this.

President implies democracy to me and as much as I vibe with that, there are a lot of other types of rulers in the countries that some simmers live in. Maybe National Leader is better. Excited for this new active career! You are the best :)

Maybe you could also incorporate the voting system from Eco Lifestyle into it? That would be cool.
