Launching my subscribestar !
🕑 Added 2023-10-11 09:14:49 +0000 UTCWith recent events, it's quite clear I need to diversify the platforms I use. Patreon is going to remain my main page however I think it has become necessary to provide alternatives. If only, for those of you who simply want to follow me elsewhere :3
So let's look at the pros and cons of Subscribestar
So first, the pros :
-Subscribestar is entirely OK with all my content. That's certainly the biggest pro of all ! I straight up asked them to review my page , they did just that and they said : "we have no problem with your content". It was clear and unambiguous. Big points for Substar here.
-They are not relying on paypal for payment. On one hand it makes the payment there a bit less practical as so many people use paypal and it's fast, on the other hand that also means that Subscribestar is nos subjected to any pressure from Paypal. A point I think is very important in the long run.
-The UI of Substar allow to post multiple images and to reorder them smoothly. That make the site easier to navigate than Patreon.
Now for the cons :
-Subscribestar is a pay-upfront system, meaning you have to pay right as you subscribe. For most of you who know my work it probably won't pose any problem but for newcomers this is something to keep in mind.
-There is an area where Patreon really outshine Substar, it's on the communication and management system. Patreon has created over the years a solid system where it's very easy to keep track of the history of your patrons and to contact them, find back their messages etc. On Substar it's a bit harder.
-Substar has a cap on file size which means when I put a HD version, i can't upload PNG here and will have to put them somewhere else, the same for demos. It's not really a big thing and can be easily worked around but it's something to know.

The unfortunate problem with the DA gallery is that the backups have been purged (I had saved image links from google, and most of them no longer work). So in the unlikely instance DA grows a brain and Karbo gets his account back, it'll purely be for communication to his watchers. Thankfully, he has everything saved besides a few old works in storage, so he can repost everything when he has the time or energy, but DA didn't save anything. What a bunch of pricks.

Hi, I'm wondering if you got my google sheet about what you have or haven't reposted to Eka's and your other non-subscription sites (though Eka's currently has the most). I think it would help with the load of reposting your older works (especially from before patreon), letting it be both quicker to finish and easier to keep track. Edit: okay so Google is apparently more strict than DA is. I haven't gotten any warnings at all, but I don't want it to get to that point. I might get rid of the checklist, and since I don't know any better programs to make a checklist with images, I'll DM you on discord organized folders of roughly 30 each to hopefully make the load of reuploading to Eka's less daunting. The checklist helped me at least.

Yes I did and the discussion is still open. I swear I have never seen such corportate robotic replies though >> for all i know, the guy handling my case could as well be an AI.

Quite unfortunate what DA did and I've seen other artists go through the same thing with their content being scrutinized and accounts banned. Been with you since the start and don't plan on changing that. Excellent idea about diversifying your distribution channels, though it may be a pain to keep track of. I'd also recommend you have a very good backup of your collected works in case the gallery gets nuked as well - seen a lot of that happen as well over the years.

What happened with the DA gallery? You said you were going to fight hard to get it back. But I'm kind of wondering if you even got a response from them tbh.

Should Patreon get even more strict regarding the content that's allowed here since you never know with paypal 😑 then I'm definitely gonna switch to subscribestar using my prepaid credit card without a second thought 😉 . EDIT: I would also strongly suggest opening up a gumroad for high res. jpg. and png. pictures, psd's, comics etc. like the also popular vore artist Jora-Bora did. More options are never a bad thing especially during those uncertain times for adult content creators like yourself 🫤 .

Going to move my main subscription over to substar, but stay here on a dollar sub for easier comms if needed :)

Another con for subscribestar is the lack of any android/iOS apps, requiring logging in and 2FA every time
