I just wanted to quickly say that because I have many different interests I follow many different types of YT/Patreon content creators and of those many, what you two do here and you two in general are without question my favorite and by far the most inspiring and motivating to me as a human with his own dreams and goals. I’m honored to be your patron. Thank you.

The Titanic game mentioned at 39:00 was called "Titanic: Adventure out of Time". I had this game on my Windows 95 PC back in the day and also never finished it.

I think Raiden was the game you were referring to at 37:40.

Lots of thoughtful and nuanced replies to the questions, great job guys once again. A FFIX remake sounds strange to me, I feel it's the most polished and complete PS1 FF. Personally I'd be much more on board for an FFVIII remake that would overhaul the battle system, or even better (but totally impossible), a sequel. Alleyway Jack has an excellent video on what a sequel to VIII would be like; it would help develop the world and characters so much more. But then again, I don't think SE has it in it to do that, all I'm hoping for is for XVI to be good and VIIR Part 2 to come out soon.

Also with the ending of this podcast we're with you, i'm always preaching the good name of "Resonant Arc" to my friends and feel more insightful, open minded etc with every podcast and is always a thing i'm always excited for and am looking for and is a highlight of my weeks keep it up don't loose sight of the good, even if the negative is louder.

Also forgot to add to my question that the difference i personally have with this boredom/creative work cycle is that at times i feel like it happens because i clear my mind at work instead of being home and being distracted by the many, many distractions we have nowadays [netflix, youtube, endless games like Wow, valorant etc] and just thought it was interesting. I agree with all the points you guys made and basically everyone is different but i think my point was sometimes being bored in todays highly stimulated/distracting world can be helpful to actually have your mind cleared in a wierd pretty much mandatory situation like work

I love FF9, but FF6 is the remake I want! Of course, some fans are apprehensive about that given what a cherished classic it is, but the wonderful characters, story, world/lore, combined with an amazing aesthetic would make for a fantastic remake. It was such an ambitious game for its time, so to see it break free from the constraints of a SNES game would be fascinating.

While some people were certainly disappointed in FF8, I think it mostly pleased fans. I don't think there was enough loss of goodwill to drop from ~9mil to ~5mil. FF9's drop-off probably had more to do with its radically different art style from FF7 and FF8 (and FF10 which was announced) as well as coming at the very end of the PS1's life cycle.

I think 9 makes more sense than 8. Wouldn’t it stand that 9 sold less because 8 lost the goodwill that was built by FF7?
