'Boss' SpeedUp Process with My Voiceover! - Concept Development

I wanted to create something lean and quick in terms of technique, so I chose a topic my followers seem to like, which is a dark tone with sea animals. This allowed me to weigh the effort on the idea rather than the execution. I searched for octopus references and found the perfect match for this art direction: the transparent octopus against a black background.
I thought of a story, and for some reason, the idea of a 'bad aunt' popped upโa very fancy aunt, with a long dress, behaving very cruelly. To show the cruelty, I needed a secondary character. That's when the dumbo octopus came in. I've wanted to do this little guy for a while but wasn't sure how. Initially, I thought about making them from an old period, perhaps Gothic, with long dresses. However, aiming for a more relatable subject, I chose a costume direction more in touch with present times, elegant and casual.
I kept the execution simple by using three simple colors from each reference and flat shadows, similar to 2D animation rendering.
