The major problem people had with this movie is its not John Stewart's story, its Kyle Rayner's story and I get it John Stewart doesn't have any big story's to trun into a movie but this is literally Kyle Rayner's origin Story and they stole it instead of doing a million other things. He could have just fought the Manhunters.

This wasn't horrible. In my opinion, it was what it was because the Tomorrowverse was born with a short shelf life. Instead of 7 years like the DCAU had, this one had 4 to tell this whole timeline's story. It had to end quickly to get into James Gunn's DCU and didn't have time for the world building we got before. They skipped Hal's story and the Justice League forming to give us this one. I liked it well enough- we found out where Adam Strange landed after his short movie (I saw that ine in the Apokolips War blu ray) and we got John and Hawkgirl meeting up in a different timeline. Not bad all things considered.

#SundayRundown - The Lantern Lore is so fuckin cool and it’s so vast. That’s some of the stuff I love about DC, there are so many pockets in the universe that have incredibly dense lore and so much of it has not been delved into enough in Live-action or animation. Maybe one day it could be explored but until then, support written media like comics & novels, they are what keep these stories alive.

#SundayRundown Okay, strap in I got a long one for you “Idk much about Green Lantern/I’m excited to see some more lore” *clenching shaking fists* I don’t dislike this movie. Having just rewatched it I like it well enough. But I would not say it’s the best for getting started on Lantern lore. THEY ALL DIE!!! Hal Jordan is corrupted and killed! Yeah it gives you basic lore and details, Guardians made the corps, Hal’s the best, Sinestro was a GL who turned, the oath, recharging, yada yada, but still. It’s not even much of a John Stewart movie •This is why I have pushed for First Flight and Emerald Knights first. First Flight is Hal’s origin, and EK is an anthology of different GL stories. Y’all don’t even know about Mogo! I don’t think I’ve ever had this much passion for Green Lantern Green Arrow and Hal are friends in the comics. They even had a bunch of team up stories “Strong will doesn’t necessarily mean strong moral compass” Sinestro’s ears are burning. To a crisp. Young Justice Adam Strange was a Star Labs scientist who worked on zeta beams and was accidentally transported to Rann and he had a thing with the lead scientist’s daughter. He didn’t seem to have the random zeta beam problem yet, and no family There’s a DC showcase short about Adam Strange that shows how he got the scar, and it’s part of the Tomorrowverse Every emotion that the various Lantern Corps are powered by have a sentient entity. Parallax is the entity of fear. The Green Lantern shows does give you most of the colors but was missing two, technically one. I’m sure it would’ve explored the rest if it hadn’t been cancelled. We need an adaptation of the War of Light trilogy that established them. Rebirth, Sinestro Corps War, and Blackest Night. 2 or 3 more corps have been added since So this movie is a combo of a couple stories. Lantern wise, Hal turning evil and wanting to remake the universe. Hal’s home city is destroyed, the Guardians are kinda dicks to him in his grief so he goes to Oa to drain the main power battery. He fights and kills everyone and takes a bunch of their rings, which is where we get an iconic cover image of Hal wearing a bunch of rings and smiling evilly. One of the Guardians gets away and gives the last working ring to an artist called Kyle Rayner, making him the new and last Green Lantern who a lot of people like. Hal becomes a supervillain called Parallax. He tries to destroy and remake the universe to undo the events that made him go evil. Eventually he heroically sacrifices himself. 10 years later, i’m pretty sure because people didn’t like Hal’s turn, they retconned that Parallax is the entity of fear that possessed Hal and influenced him into doing all this.

Hi guys love the reaction Parallax the demon that went into Hal is not an actually demon per se but more of a cosmic entity, he’s the entity of fear and he creates and feeds off fear. The yellow lanterns draw their power from parallax. That’s how he’s portrayed in the comics. There are seven more entities as well as there are lantern corps for each of them , like Spidey said there is a Star Wars level of lore to Green Lantern that has yet to be fully explored

#SundayRundown I’ve never seen a lot of these Tomorrowverse movies so it’s fun experiencing some of them for the first time with you guys. Like Spidey said, the Lantern lore is Star Wars like. There’s 11 different organizations amongst the Lanterns in DC Jon Stewart is the Green Lantern I grew up with so it’s always fun to see stuff based around him. I know for older comic fans, Hal was/is their guy. I can’t wait for the Lanterns show next year with all 3. I don’t think James G. wrote any of the 3 projects for the DCU in 2026 so it’ll be cool to get other people’s vision of these characters & the world.

#sundayrundown i think my main problem with this movie is that its not a john movie its a mix of his origin and kyle origin with kyle origin story taking up most of it. John has a really cool story to tell like the first part of the movie he is fighting thugs and the GL Core see this and sends hal to recuite him kinda becoming his mentor and rival or they could had done the story of how he let one of the universe bigger plants blow up cause he was too cocky i just feel if they wanted to tell this story they should had gone with kyle not john also this story is a adaptation of the emerald twilight where during the events of the the reign of Superman hal hometown gets destroyed and he goes mad trying to bring it back the core try to take his ring from him and he kills them all leading to one of the Guardian to earth finding kyle emerald twilight is considered one of the worst GL stories but it does lead into some of the best GL stories with hal as the hero and expanding the GL lord and it does give us kyle rayner who is many people favorite lanterns this is also a slight adaptation of the green arrow and green lantern buddy cop run where they travel the world fighting crime he is normally paired up with hal or john dont remember if there are other runs with the other GL Here is the list of some of the earth GLs this is not all of them but these are the bigger ones: Alan Scott: The original Golden Age Green Lantern, first appearing in 1940. His ring is magical in nature and not associated with the Green Lantern Corps. Hal Jordan: The first human member of the Green Lantern Corps, introduced in 1959. Guy Gardner: The second human to be selected for the Corps and a frequent stand-in for Hal Jordan the ring was suppose to go to Guy but went to Hal cause he was closer. John Stewart: The third human Corps member and one of DC's first major Black superheroes. Kyle Rayner: The fifth Lantern overall and the first to wield the ring after the Corps was destroyed. He later became a member of the rebuilt Corps
